On the back of the door panel of a 1997 Honda Civic, the arm rest is connected via plastic rivits.  What is the best way to remove those so that I can reupholster the arm rest with vinyl.  On another note, I will post pictures this evening on work that has been done on the civic, ie the custom fiber glass panels.

I am not sure of the proper way but I just used a hot knife and carefully melted them. To put it back on I used the black hot glue that you can buy. It wasn't my best work but it lasted.

Jeff,

wow another person from Kansas City, how about that.

Actually , what I am doing is reupulstrying it to have black vinyl there, opposed to the ugly thin grey fabric that is there now.
