I am looking to compile myself a new resume, focussed on Car Audio, and I was wondering if there is anything specific I should include in my resume that would be appealing to 12 Volt employers.  I am MECP Certified, and know that I should include that, as well as my experience, but I thought there might be some way to make me extra-appealing in the field.

Maybe a binder with some pictures of your best work. Let your installs speak for themselves...

Thanks Mike, I was thinking of doing that, and hearing it from a fellow installer really assures me that its a good idea.  My installs speak loud and clear (so I like to think, anyway).

Also, you could state specific numbers of installs you've done - like say, 100 remote starts/alarms, 30 mobile video, etc. Good luck.

Another great idea, I think that I will include that with the photos, as a separate section.  I will list my credentials, experience, education, etc. on the first page, then include what I have done, with examples in photos.  Thanks a lot guys, this is a real big help.

another variation is to make a bunch od photo cds with your pics on them. then you can leave it with them or they can be mailed to a shop you want to work at and you dont have to worry about getting the pics back.

make it 1 page if you can most places dont like resumes to be longer than that. if you are delivering it in person, you can put it in a nice proposal folder. and hand it to the person who will be doing the hiring, so you are sure the right person recieved it.

and call them back in a few days to see if they had a chance to look at it and if they had any questions or want to set up a time to talk.

you can add a list of skills and about how long you have been doing things like wood working, or body work, or starters.
