I have installed a sony cd player in my montero.  I have bypassed the infinity amplifier and all my speakers work fine.  I am having trouble with the power antenna.  It got its power out of the factory head unit.(its own plug)I can not seem to get the antenna to come up. I have tried to ground the outside copper wire in the power antenna plug and feed the inner wire(thats insulated)with the turn on lead from the cd player and it still wont come on. Do I need to use a relay and let the antenna lead pick up the coil to send 12 volts to the antenna?  Help would be wonderful. I need my radio!!!!!!

make sure the arrial has constant 12 volt to one side, then make sure that the stereo outpot is ok

if ok , maybe earth is the problem
