Notes:*1 This is a one wire system, must use relays. Lock requires negative trigger through a 1.5K resistor, Unlock requires a negative trigger to the same wire. *2 The door lock relays are located to the drivers side of the brake pedal. *3 The diagnostic connector is in driver side rear corner of the engine compartment. Can also find tach in pin 48 of the ECM. *4 The ECM is behind the passenger side of the dash.

Is the first wire on the list a constant 12V !? I mean, does it provide voltage even when the starter isn't on ?

Thanks

Hey Wingma21:

The BLACK/ white or black  wire is constant at all times ( when idle, started or running ).

Hey Mazdawg;

ACCESSORY is the BLACK/ white wire in the igntion harness. The E-Brake is a grounding signal that grounds out when enganged. It is usually attached to the e-brake handle at the hinge part of the handle. You will need to take the center console portion of the interior apart to access this wire.

I tried the BLACK/ white wire and it only shows 12V when the starter is on whatever accesory or on... What I want is a wire that shows 12V even with the car stopped (No key at all) ! Is the black wire the one that I'm looking for ?

Thanks

Yes, it's the BLACK wire in the ignition harness.... make sure that you test this wire though.

I got another problem :-(

Behind the fuse box, I found 3 BLACK/ blue wires (Door Trigger), but I got no respond on these wires when I open/close my doors !!! Is there another place with BLACK/ blue wire(s) ? Usually, where does an alarm takes his wire for the door trigger !?

Thanks

Hey jeff, what about finding the signal for the e-brake light in the instrument cluster?  And how about the a/c / heater?  If I remote start the car will it get power from the ignition, because their is a wire from the clifford unit to power it up?

thanx

Hey Wingman21 ..... I usually go straight to the switch and grab the wire from there. That way there's no way that you could have the wrong wire and all you have to so is run an extra 4 feet of primary wire to the alarm CPU for the trigger. Sometimes you spend more time finding the wire in the dash than if you were to take some extra time a run the wire straight to the switch. Go there and you won't have to hunt for the door trigger wires.

Hey Mazdawg ..... attach the BLACK/ white  wire from the ignition harness to the ACCESSORY wire from the Clifford wiring harness. This will activate the heater/AC controls when you have them on when remote starting the Mazda. As far as the E-Brake light goes... if it's easier to get at that wire behind the dash... go for it. It's the same signal when it's engaged and make sure you test the wire for the right polarity with a DMM.

To access the switch, do I have to go inside my door ? Also, I don't want to run a wire for both of my front door... is that what I'll have to do to trigger from both of them ? Also, last call, anybody here knows where to find the doors trigger wire ? I know you can take the one behind your cluster (also BLACK/ blue), but I dont want to take if off... well not yet :-D ! So if the wire goes behind it, it must be coming from the bottom, but where ?

Thanks

The door trigger wire is on the inside of the body panel....not the door. You need to pull back the door sill and a bit of the carpet to access the door pin switch.

Hey Wingman, are you looking for a door trigger or the trunk trigger?  To find the door trigger the wire is located in the pilar between the front and rear door.  Should be a to groung type pin.  good luck

Will the Ford relay singal wire diagram work for 2002 Protege 5 door locks, or does the protege 5 require negitive out to the GREEN/ red wire?  Thanks Scott

Yes the FORD single wire diagram will work for the Mazda, but use the resistor values I listed for the Mazda in the first reply that I gave Wingman21.
