To start off, I have a 92 Prelude SI.  I also have the Sidewinder 6500ESP alarm/rem start.  I was thinking about adding a window rollup moulde like https://cgi.ebay.com/dll?ViewItem&item=1377689053

First...why there are 8 wires...I know there will be a +,-, - from aux channel, then 4 for the 2 windows.  What would the other wire go to?

Second, what color wires would I tap in the door?  Do I just tap the wires or to I actually have to cut them and wire the unit in between?

Lastly, will this unit work with my car and alarm?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Eric

Eric,

I'm not to sure about the sidewinder window control module but to be sure I would contact a local shop that carries this alarm and ask them or call Siderwinder. It might be another (-) input trigger that you can tie into the other (-)input trigger.Or you can purchase the DEI 520T (I think). It will work with any alarm that has a (-) output trigger. It's only about $30 or so and it comes with instructions. I use them in all my installs.

As for which wires to cut into, contact your local shop. They might have a program called MAID XL like I have. If I get time I will look up the color codes for you.

Also if the module you want needs a (-) input trigger to activate it and you have an extra ch. with a (-) trigger then sure it should work.

hey eld101,

On all window roll up window module (that I know of), you will have to cut the factory wire going between the switch and the motor. Therfore you have 2 wires to the switch and 2 wires to the motor for each power window you would like to control.

Left front window RED / yel and RED / blue

right front window blu/grn and blu/yel

hope this helps

2 wires goes to switch for both windows

2 wires goes to motor for both windows

1 wire for +12V and 1 wire for ground

1 wire for aux channel ( - input)

1 wire for ignition kill relay ( so it doesnt activate when ur ignition wire is hot or cold )

i forgot which side the ignition wire goes to, but i know this is correct bcuz i had it on my car, sold the car tho, but planning to do it to my new car
