I have three screens a dvd player and a PS2 in my truck. Everything is behind me. I'm looking to put an IR receiver in the front so I can control everything from the driver seat. Does anyone know of a system made for cars?

Not finding a ready-made systen for cars, I built the circuit myslef. Luckily my DVD player have wired-remote infrared receiver. The receiver outputs 5-volt logic levels for the dvd player to decode. I used the signals to modulate a 555 (as 38kHz multivibrator) whose output drives an infrared photodiode via VN10K mosfet switch. I also used a 5-volt regulator for the 555 chip. The circuit is quite easy to build by any casual electronic hobbyist.

If your dvd player don't have a wired-remote infrared receiver, you'll need an infrared receiver module available at some online stores. These are tiny modules requiring 5-volt supply and have built-in 38kHz demodulator.
