I currently own a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with digital fuel indicator, speedometer, and odometer. The digital instrument clusters have always been flakey and mine is starting to crap out. A replacement is $680 from GM, and my car isn't even worth that much. I went to the auto wreckers, and found a digital cluster for $25 (from a 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme) and it is the upgrade/optional cluster... It has digital fuel indicator, battery/voltage, speedometer, tachometer, oil, temperature, etc etc etc. It's very nice and I'd like to install it in my car...
Also, I cut the wiring harness out of the 1992, because the connectors are slightly different..
Good luck with that...You would have your work cut out for you. You would be much better off searching the internett for a site that can give you a direct replacement to the one you currently have. Expect to pay $125-200 for one of these replacements, but that is much better than a new one, and you should still be able to get at least a year warranty on a replacement. Be aware these are generally core-exchanges, so you will have to return your original cluster as part of this deal. If you absolutely cannot find one online, send me a reply and I can get you a price quote on that.
Thanks, Don
