i wanna test if there ispower going to my cig .lighter ...

so i plan on grounding it to a bolt on my seats...then red to the eletrod of the cig lighter...

but i dont know what sweith to use?

i mean what point...iam using a multimeter

? not sure of the question but set the meter to volts (20 if not autoranging) and touch the positive to the terminal at the back of the plug (the little one in the middle all the way back), the side of plug (inside) is ground...

The V with the solid line or dashed line indicates DC volts.

The V with the wavy line, indicates AC volts.
