  Help .... please.  I have a '99 escort. A couple of mo. ago the a/c quite working (compressor won't kick in) a week later my speedometer died. I had the a/c system "checked" and was told that it was "NOT the compressor." (works when jumped)   There is no leak at all in the sys. (when the comp. was on the air was 37 F) And I was told the pressure switches, fuses and relays all worked? after they checked this my speedometer started to act stupid, working for a block then not then working etc.   Man I need help please

well if you were like the customers i had a few weeks ago you could just take it to the shop that installed your stereo and blame it on them.  (sorry venting),  About the only thing I can think of that you haven't tried is checking the tension on the fan belt, other belts, etc. to see if maybe on is loose.
