I am looking for a source for this diagram or a way to bypass the ecu's involvment in the circuit.

I don't think the ecu has any invovlement in the ac system on that old of a vehicle. What is going on?

The relay has positive power to both the coil and the main switching side of the coil for the AC clutch, but they have interupted the ground side of the coil, and without tearing the loom apart I wanted to know where the ground wire was coming from and why it was the one being switched.

Both positives are hot all the time the engine is on, whether the ac is on or not.

I think I'd be more surprised if the ECU didn't have anything to do with the AC on that year model car.. most times it's for turning off the compressor when the throttle is wide open..

If the ECU does help control the AC, you need to identify the wire off the ECU that does this controlling, disconnect it from the ECU, and figure out what you need to do with the wire to fake the circuit into operating..

Are you having an AC problem?. I normally don't see the ECU as an issue for AC related problems.. there are a number of other switches that also control AC operation.
