My girlfriend's 95 Accord's speedometer is messed up. It is stuck on 0 mph no matter how fast the car is going. And now the indicator light says there is something wrong with the transmission. Could this just be faulty wiring, or is there a BIG problem? Please help. Thank you...
go faster, it may work..

Actually, does it have any aftermarket installs?

those are not digital speedometers. check the tach cable...it's probably broken. and I believe it plugs right into the transmission. In my old '84 accord (yeah, '84), I had the speedometer cable brake. I tried to replace the $20 part myself, but I ended up having to take it to a mechanic b/c I couldn't fish the cable into the the tranny...
if it's the speedometer cable, it's connected into the back of the instrument cluster, runs through the firewall to the tranny in the enging compartment. Parts store should have the part for much less than $50.
it's more than likely the vehicle speed sensor (the ecm also uses that to set codes so theres your trans code) they don't use cables anymore (haven't in a few years)
I also have a 95 accord and when the key is turned on the speedo goes to 20mph and stayes there.
p.s. the tach works fine

The speedo has to be recalibrated from Honda. There is no cable in the 1994+ Accords. They are all electronic speedo's. If the speedo is not functioning properly chances are that the speedo connection to the tranny is severed or damaged.
