what's the highest amperage rating for maxi fuses? i know they have 100-amp. how about 150?

It depends on what kind of fuse you want to use.  I don't know about "maxi", but ANL fuses are commonly available up to 300 amps.

i dont believe the maxi fuse format itself is rated higher than about 100 amps.... the fuseholders have to be rated to a certain amperage, not just the fuses themselves... any thing over 80 amps i usually would use an ANL style holder and fuse...

i tend to suspect that if you did use a 100 amp maxi in a maxi holder and you were running it close to max current that you would find the holder itself melting or warping......
