I'm going to wire an amp, but I can't find a good place to run my wire through the firewall. I really don't want to drill if I don't have to. I have an '03 Sebring Coupe. Does anyone know of a good place to run the wire or suggestions?posted_image

i opened a hole up around a set of wires by removing the wires from the hole they were connected between, and pushed my hand around inside to find a viable spot to drill, dont kno how much electronics litters the under-dash of your car, but i suppose it could be a little more than my 91 buick ;/

anyways, just try and stick your hand in from one side to find a suitable spot on the other, i found working from the motor in, and getting someone, or myself to spot the otherside was sufficent.

drill a freak'n hole man. All these new cars dont have as many easy to pop grommets as the older ones. I'd say if its just some 8 AWG wiring then run the wiring under the engine compartment and if ur concerned about hitting stuff drill into the floor near the drivers seat and come up there. Otherwise find a spot on the fire wall with nothing on the other side, cut out a little section of the wall, drill, gromet and be done with it. other than that I'd say go be ghetto or something and run the wire from ur battery through ur drivers side door to the back haha posted_image

OH, and try following ur hood pop cord, thats how I got my wiring run and I have a 97' stratus so maybe its simular since its all chrystler corp sh*t.

Yea there should be a spot right next to the brake stuff on the fire wall. Look to the left of that

I don't know your electrical system, but you might be able to find the cars wiring harness from the engine compartment and follow that.  Some of the harnesses go into the fender and then back into the kick panel.

Try looking under the dash for a pre-notched whole in the foam that covers the firewall.  Usually there is at least 1 or 2 because they use the same firewall in multiple cars durring manufacturing.  If you find one then pop it out and drill there, you should be safe.  Make sure you cable tie your wire away from any moving parts under the dash and in the engine compartment.

Hope that helps,

Dutch

in an automatic your gonna have a spot to drill thru where the clutch would be. don't kill your self lookinng for a grmmet that probably isn't there just drill use the supplied plastic grommet in a wiring kit and get some 3M strip caulk to seal up around the wire done
