I am about to put a pretty good sytem in my 99 grand cherokee and am wondering how i am going to arrange the amps.I guess what i am leading into is, do you think that if i mount my amps on top of my sub box, it would seem like a better target.  I tought that it wouldn't because of the fact that if you see subs, you know that here has to be an amp pushing them so why like mount it on my seat or on the back of the box.   Any help would be great.

Don't mount the amps with the subs for a couple of reasons:

1. If you get your truck broken into they steal the box and the amps come with it. Easy target and it's all wrapped up for someone to steal

2. Looks bad ( person opinion ) I don't like it when you have the amp just mounted to the box..... be a little more creative posted_image

3. You can see all the wiring and it clutters the installation.

the other reason is simply cause if you dont mount the amp in the perfect spot than the vibration of the box will loosen all the resitors and stuff that makes the amps i repair amps and i know , i see it all the time everyday.

OK, what about if i mount them under my back seat and put fans going into them.  I had thought of this before and is seeming to be more and more of a possibility for an option.  Give me your thoughts on this or where else you think would be a possible good location to mount it.

If you have enough "head room " for the amps under your seat, the use of fans is not necessary. Other than that the location is good and theft will be harder for them in this location.
