Ok, I'm new (this is my second post), but I have a question...maybe I should already know the answer to this (I emailed the site, but no one will respond), but I don't, so here goes.
Why is there not any information for cars past 2000? What about 04, 05 stuff?? God knows there are a lot of new cars coming into install bays.
Second, I'm wondering how accurate the wiring diagrams are on this site. I ask because I have a 1991 Explorer. You guys say that the speaker size is 5" X 7", but its definitely not, its 6 X 8. My mom has a 94 Explorer, and its the same deal with that one. 12 Volt says 5 X 7, its 6 x 8. I'm just wanting to know what the deal is...if speaker sizes are wrong, then how can I rely on wire colors and accuracy??? We all know that accidentally hooking up the wrong wire can be fatal to a component in a car, right?? I know that I could test the wires myself, but then what is the point in ever visiting 12volt.com in the first place??
Help me out if ya'll don't mind. I'm sure there is a good explanation for all of this.
So let me get this right...this site is the best??? But it has no cars newer than 2000?? When there are thousands and thousands of newer cars out there?? Yeah, this site is great...

It is not *The Best* as you have phrased. Because everyone has a their own idea of what is *The Best* and that is subjective view, and based on personal opinion & expereince(s).
This site is however one of few sites that has members who are extremely knowledgable in all facets of audio, video, electrical, and mechanical theory and applications, whether it be 12 volt based, or commercial applications.

The owner of this site has not updated the resources of this forum because of time, and resources.
You will however be able to obtain any and all wiring for 2000 - 2005 via the specific forums you participate in.
You simply need to ask, end of story on that topic.
In closing, if you're even remotely serious about doing any sort of work on your own personal vehicle as well on others.
It is a given and expected that
YOU varify all contact points with a DMM and with three reference material forms to guage the accuracy of the information.
The onus is upon you, the installer, not on the site. Remember the information is provided to you free of charge, and common sense cannot be given, or bought to assist you in resolving mistakes you would have, or did make, because you simply did not take the time to varify the contact point with your DMM.
That comes down to common sense, on all parties, not just you.

Calm down Teken, geeese! Don't get all worked up. I DO check my wires before messing with them. I didn't mean to imply that I don't, I'm just saying that I should be able to rely on them to a certain extent. I mean, I would hope that they are somewhere in the ballpark close. My main concern was just that I didn't see any cars past 2000. I know that I can ask on the forum, of course...I really don't have time to wait on someone to reply to a post that I make if I'm on the job/clock do I?? If you've got the time to put cars dating back many many years on here, 2000-2004 (4 more years) shouldn't be that difficult.

Trust me, I don't get worked up because a person poses a question. I do however, get annoyed by statements which are not based upon facts, or first hand experience(s) which pertain to this site, or any other site which has a reputable standing in the 12 volt arena.

Based on your reply I am gathering you are not a professional, and are more of a advid fan who wishes to learn more . . .
If you require more resources which this site does not offer. I would urge you to take the time to review many more sites that will.
I can tell you from first hand experience that all the wiring guides from DEI, Omega, Wire Magic, etc, are not 100% accurate, nor do they tell you everything you want to know about any particular vehicle in the open market.
Only experience, and taking the time to ask *people* who have prior experience(s) with a particular problem will assist you in finding a solution.
Bottom line . . . Stop, Look, ans Listen, and use all the grey matter that is in your brain to its fullest.
That, and testing each wire, prior to making any connection is what this is all about.
Any tech / installer who relies on wiring guides 100% of the time, is not a technician. That is simply a brain dead robot, with little common sense, and a lack of motivation to learn.
Just because I can show you every software or resource(s) to obtain information, does this make you a great installer???
Great installers are those who take the time to learn, and to do the job right the first time. If they make a mistake, they write it down, and learn from it.
I hope that answers your Q, and no, I am not upset, mad, or angry.
I am simply stating my thoughts on the written text you have provided here today.
If you require more resources which you feel would help you more, simply ask.
