high i was thinking about tyring something on my car and i was wondering how i can reduce the 12v from an output to about 50 percent so about 6v. what resistors could i use and how should they be wired.

What are you trying to connect? A little more info would help.

well im thinkin about a DIY daytime running lights. just wanted to know how i could get 12v to down to about 6v or so to have about half intensity for the high beams.

The facory way is to use some huge-ass resistors. To figure out the R, you need to know the hot R of your high beams (cold resistance is a lot lower). Basically you want to build a voltage divider. Just make sure your dropping resistors are up to the challenge (P = I^2 * R).
