The Honda S2000 is equipped with dash mounted volume, mute, channel and audio control switches. I've been told that with the exception of Alpine units with a harness conversion, only Honda brand stereo cd units can be controlled by these dash switches. Is this true?

Nothing against Alpine, but I'd like to believe I have more options.
