Hello ...to keep this short I have a 1989 S-10 pickup that i am fixN up.........Question............It has a standard dash in it..I would like to put a digital dash in it. I am thinking that GM would have used the same sensors on both vehicles to save $$$$ so all it would take is to make an adapter to plug into the digital dash ????  Could it be that easy ¿

No the plugs are not the same.... There are also more wires.....my standard dash has 15 wires the digital I was looking at has 18... Standard dash has no tach or ABS.. The digital has both. The tach needs 2 wires and i think the ABS would only need 1.. So that takes care of the Xtra 3 wires... I hope.............................Has anyone done this before? I would hate to shell out $200+ and have it not work :(

Hmm, I own a 89 s-10 and did the swap but my anolog dash had a tach so it was a strait swap, same plugs and all. I am surprised gm went through the cost of making seperate harnesses. Either way, the swap is definatly possible and if you get a wiring diagram you can easily crossreferance the plugs and attach the new harness. Go to a GM dealler and ask to see their master manual for the vehicle and they will let you look at the book and copy down the wiring codes you need.
