I am trying to figure out how to set up my truck so that I can plug it into a 110 volt source so that I don't drain the batteries. I have seen it done on show vehicles.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Tom

most cars use a trickle charger thus why thoses systems arnt booming when the car isnt on...I use one now and again but typically I just leave the car running via the remote start and its not going anywhere

Thanks for the reply.

Isn't there a way to use a converter 110 to 12v so I can have a plug down near my bumper and then have the converter bypass the batteries?

For about $50 you can get an AC-DC converter like this one...but look at the amperage output...5 amps.  Look at the fuse ratings of your amplifier(s) and add them up, and you'll see about how many incoming amps you want to try to get.  Do a google search for AC DC converter and you'll soon see how much money it takes to get the current an auto sound system needs.  It's cost-prohibitive.

Tsunami sells a larger powersupply, that they use for show vehicles. It supplies about 60A and is about $200. Metra Electronics is the supplier.
