Ford Van, by-pass seat belt buzzer

We have just purchased a new ford E-250 van at my office. We use it alot for deliveries so the van is cut on and off quite often. My question was do any of you know how to disconnect or by-pass the buzzer for the seat belt. If you do not hook it up and then un hook it, it will keep going off until you do. My company will not let you keep the van running if you are not in it, so every time you cut it off and get back in you have to rehook it then un hook it. This gets real annoying when you are delivering stuff right in one general area and you have to keep hooking and un hooking the belt. Any help would be great. I saw two wires that go into where the seat belt goes and figured that those were the wires to the buzzer but I figured I would ask up here first. Thanks Kevin

hello, my friend, i had the same problem as you in a 2001 Ford E350 Econoline Van, and below was my fix for it; this should work for you exactly as it did for me, thus solving the DAMN 'dingggging' bell i got from the seatbelt being unlatched prior to starting-  MAN, does that thing get annoying or what?!

you are correct in your assumption of the two wires you described, one going in and the other coming out of where the latch snaps in, however cutting does not solve the problem.

all i did was cut the two wires to seperate them from the seatbelt latching mechanism themselves, leaving enough wire so that i may splice them together with a butt spliced connector, crimped it, and i was done. the thing never gave me a seatbelt DING again.

of course, you could just reach underneath and behind the dash, below left of the radio, and remove the buzzer module by simply disconnecting it from its wiring harness, first removing the panel in front of your knees in the driver's seat to access it.

let me know how this works for you if you plan on doing what i've suggested, as it's been a year since i've done it, but still it sits functioning like this on my work van. this is my first post response to a problem here, and i'd hate to think i've steered you wrong with my suggestion, after being helped by so many here.

Damn small world aint it...I worked at a Computer store that had the same van....

All I did was unplugged the harness from the seatbelt latch and shoved a paper clip down into the thing...Worked great,,,No more dinging...And no cut wires....

I wanted to shoot that buzzer,,,Hated it,,,
