This is not auto related. I was wondering if I can use a 12v AC/DC power supply to run some led accent lighting in my home thater setup? I'm pretty sure it would work. I guess my question is, would it cause any kind of signal interference (audible) in my system? I figured I could get away with a pretty low amp model like one of these https://www.etronics.com/listproducts.asp?catid=4071&store==. Any input or alternate suggestions on where to find led accent lighting that runs on 100v A/C will be appreciated. This is just one of the crazy ideas bouncing around in my head. Feel free to shot my idea down if this is a bad idea.

yeah i don't see why not but i wouldn't put the converter too close to your speaker or home theater unit because it will feed back and give you buzzing or humming.....

DO you use a power filter on your home theater set up like a line conditioner or a monster power bar with clean power, if so then noise should not be a problem, if not it is possible to get noise through the ac outlet and that can be transfered though the system. I havent seen it happen to much but it can happen.

Yes I do have an A/C line conditioner. I figured I'd just plug the power supply into a different outlet just to be safe. I don't have much experience with led's (aside from in my alarm systems). What would be the propper way to wire them? How many could I use off of 1 of these power supplies? The idea is to mount them behind all of the glass shelves on my audio rack. So that they make the edges of the glass glow. Any ideas on mounting them?
