ok, i'm lazy..yes.... but what's more important is that i don't have anything to check the power going to my doorlock switches. has anyone installed a remote start system on a 1999 ford f-150 V6? if so, i would greatly appreciate it if you could just tell me what wires go where. (colors, wire to switch, wire to motor....so on and so forth)

please help.

k..., uh- what kind of remote start? directed? something else? I can tell you that you shouldnt have to go into the doors. normally up higher in the kick panels you can find the 2 wires you need. get back to me on your system, we'll go from there.

peace

you cannot do this job without some sort of test light. if it is a five wire lock set up you need to know switch side and motor side of the wires. cut one of the lock and unlock wires in half. if the locks do not work at all then it is type c locks or 5 wire your preference of name. If it still locks but not unlock or vice versa then it is negative locks. email me when you find this out and I will tell you the rest

We need to know if you have OEM keyless or not. This is VERY important because there are two different systems on these trucks depending on if you have keyless entry from factory ot not.

no, the bullcrap kit did not come with a bypass module, i bypassed it myself...yes the locks are power locks... i was just needing the information on the wires if someone has already installed one on a 99 F150 and already knows which wires are which. appreciate any feedback you can give me... thanks again...

Lock wire is pink / yellow

Unlock wire is pink / light green

This is a reverse polarity system, meaning you must locate these wires either at the switch or where they come into the vehicle from the drivers door. If this is new to you, then go right to the switch in the door. You will need to cut these two wires in half leving you 4 ends. These wires now need to be extended back into the vehicle in the drivers foot well and wired into two relays. Here is a relay diagram. If this is a 2 dr truck then a 10 amp fuse on the power line should suffice. All of this info is found here on this site.

it doesn't say anything in the instruction manual about a relay. it just says to find out what wires lock and unlock the doors... then, cut them in half and wire the box into the line between the switch and motor. i was just wondering which one was which. so what's with the relays?

the relays will supply suffucient power to lock and unlock ur doors. I was only kidding when i called it a bullcrap by the way. sorry if I offended u. lol. I just play alot. if u dont have relays go to like o reillys or autozone. there like $4. bucks or right around that.
