I have installed an amp in a 2003 mercedes 500sl convertible ,the problem i have now is the volume will increase on its own .I think because the addition of the amp and an additional woofer the radio tries to compensate for what it thinks is either road noise or wind noise. I removed the radio looking for some kind of michrophone but did not find anything. The system plays fine but when you increase the bass the volume goes up. please let me know if anyone has any feedback . THANK YOU

Most newer cars have a volume control that varies depending on the speed of the car. It should be able to be turned off or adjusted in the menu where you adjust the tone and balance, ect.

It is actually controlled via VSS. You should be able to disable the autovolume through the radio. If you can't figure it out call the dealership and they will be able to give you an answer.

I promise to be good.
Tell Darwin I sent you.
I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.
I dont think it is the speed sensor but rather a volume control based on road or wind noise beause the car is parked in the install bay. I did a search on a mercedes owners site and found that it might be programable throught the data link wire .I am calling the dealership today to check on it. THANKS!
