help please! can somebody tell a girl a simple way to connect the power antenna wires to the car? the instructions are beyond me! the only way its working so far,(dont laugh yet) ...is the 2 power wires (1 red, 1 black) connected 2 the antenna, running out the trunk, along the car and back in the window where it connects to the dash fuse box because the antenna.. initially working after install, naturally stopped. looks like one of the wires died there.please tell me theres a way to get out of this mess alive?? you otta be laughing by now...sweatting waiting 4 help! bethnchuck@aol.com
You need to use the factory wires from the plug of the original antenna. You need to hook up the wire that is showing constant power to the red of the antenna. Ground the black wire to the metal of the car. There is usually one more extra wire.. green or some other color from the antenna. You must hook that up to the wire that shows power only when you turn on the radio. The thick black wire fron the car (the antenna wire) just plugs into the slot on the antenna.

My Personal Installer Note: Connectors are easy, neat, and professional. But do you know how to crimp properly?
My advise to you is not to toutch anything unless you know what you're doing. But if you're going to try do it
this way.
Thin Black Wire to the ground
Thin Red Wire to constant power
Thick blach wire to the antenna connection for the signal to work
The other wire (which-ever color it is) to the remote of the radio, however it is simpler to connect it to the
ignition, that would be the BLACK/ White or BLACK/ Red wire at the ignition switch harness
Let me know how it turns out.
