Hi Car-Stereo fanatics .... I need help with a DVD wiring diagram, by the time we bougth my wife's car (2002 Excursion XLT) the entertainment package was VHS so we decided not to get it (BIG mistake), last week a friend of us (owns a yunkyard) give us a DVD+Monitor, ceiling console. I went to ford ordered the harness and made an apoinment to have it installed, they called me to inform me that the harness had arrived ($325), and that the installation was going to cost me $900,,,,,, you know the rest (I went back home without entertainmet system),,,, I was wondering if any of you, expert instalers knew what the wires are for ? The DVD is a Delphi Delco Electronics System - Player ASM-DVD, and the back of the unit has a 12 pin plug, with 10 wires nicely color coded; from left to rigth and top to bottom the wires are (looking at the back of the unit):

TOP: (1) ORANGE / Black, (2) GREEN/ red, (3) BLACK/ green, (4) not used, (5) Tan, (6) blue/pink

BOTTOM: (1) grey, (2) purple, (3) not used, (4) Blue/red, (5) GREEN/ black, (6) WHITE/ purple

The connection from the DVD to the monitor is a 26pin plug (I guess I don’t need to do anything with it) the DVD should feed the monitor through that cable.

I appreciate any help….. Thank you very much

Roberto

The harness is required ( too bad you couldn't get it from your wrecker friend ). The installation is basic because everything is plug and play. if you have the harness for the DVD and for the head unit.
