I have a 94 Toyta 4runner and I have just installed a system. I took care in the wiring of it and followed all of the normal tips for running cables. I have a whinning noise that revs with my engine that I can't get rid of.. any tips would be very helpfull thanks
- Don't use cheap RCA's. Try to find double or triple shielded RCA if all possible
- Use a ground length of less than 3 feet
- make sure that your ground on your deck is the same resistance as the amp that you grounded
- Is the noise in fact a ground loop or is it an ignition noise ( when you turn on Ac/heater you get more noise ? )

Dear Macnit...
A common problem if i take for aquired that the wiring is really ok, is that the gain of your amps is probablly too high for the signal suplied by your head unit. So, 1st turn down the gain of your amps. second put the volume of your head unit to the highest clean listenable power. THEN FINALLY,raise the gain of your amp up to a proper balance to get the bes immaging effect.
This the best way to adjust if you dont have a scope.

Yes I'm Back 2006...
I bought the best RCA cables i could find.. zero noise triple shielded and I have checked the resistance and grounded my deck to the same ground as my amps. the noise doesn't not come from the deck the rca cable can be only plugged into my amp and not my deck and the noise is still there it is unaffected by turning on or off and assc. Only when the engine is running
Thanks for all your help.. I turned down the gains on my amp and the noise is gone thanks for the help again you guys are a great resource
