Two questions on the side of the box there is one 3 pin wire connection next to the LED and sensor one wire is solid red one is solid green and one is red w/black strip what are these three for. Now two there is a sliding cover when removed shows a 2 lever sliding switch labled 1 and 2 on the topwith an arrow pointing up that says on. What is switch one for and two for. Thanks getting ready to install this alarm on a 1980 Lincoln Mark VI. And thanks to everyone who has helped me in regards to all the wiring going to give it a try this weekend.

that is lock/unlock...reverse the leads per the polarity...dont worry about RED / black...pull the pin or tape...hope this helps...by the way where did you find the 2040...?

Tommy i had bought this on Ebay about a year and a half ago barely pulled it out of storage. But i saw a 2040A on Ebay actually i sent the person an Email about shipping. If interested let me know i think the auction ended but can still contact him no one bid on it starting bid was $9.00 and change.Also thanks for the wiring help.

The red\black is used for split unlocking, like factory keyless. It's a programmable feature. If you need any programming help e-mail me, I install KARR alarms all day.

yep...sure is 2 stage un-locking...if i might ask...how are you installing karr alarms...(meaning is this your own business...?)
