hello, i've got a prob with this van, i've got the remote starter put in and it's running, even the neg input through a 180 ohm resistor. here's the prob, when the engine is warm the vehicle will start with the remote and work properly, let the engine sit for an hour and try and remote start it and it will just crank.
now ya know the prob, here's what i've done, double checked all the wires, replaced the resistors, all the wires are solder'd and secure, i've tried both the blue/green and blue/orange tach wires ( it was the two suggested, only way to get to the injector wire was to remove parts of the engine i didn't want to }:)) and i've even changed out the whole brain. the unit i'm using is a command start 350i and the engine in the van is a 3.8 V-6. if anyone has and info that be great, i know i don't wanna see the van no more and i'm pretty sure the customer don't wanna see me anymore :)
Ok this is assuming your immobilizer is taken care of or non existant. First thing, make sure you have "good" grounds and that you checked the resistor with a meter to make sure it is correct, I have seen many many mislabeled resistors. The next thing is tach, make sure the connection is very good, no t-taps or twist and tape. If the connection is good then make sure when the hood pin is depressed, hood is closed, that there is plenty of clearance between the plunger and the body of the switch. If that checks then attempt to increase the starter crank time. If those don't help then I would chime in on the other post just like this in the security forum, it was posted like a day or two ago.
Also just for FYI I don't deal with the "cold" living in AZ. Most of the ideas I presented are from other posts. If you find the solution definately post the info used to fix.
