Anyone familiar with the Crimestopper CS-GMATA ll for bypassing GM Passlock ll. The website says it has a 0-20k OHM potentiometer with 10 OHM increments for the reistance. Will this be accurate enough with the Passlock ll system on a 2002 Tahoe?
m Increments
The potometer will be accurate enough but Passlock II bypass systems have a tendency to fluctuate when the temperature changes. Just be warned that one day ( not for sure ) you will get a warning light on the dash, but will go away when the weather matches when you put in the system originally.

Warning light. The startinf will not be a problem as long as you are within 5 % of the resistor value, but sometimes the computer requires you to be within 1 % of the resistor value otherwise you get the warning lights. With temperature variations it usually goes outside of the 1 % which causes errors to come up sporatically.

Why dont you read the impedance from the barrel(key on and yellow wire cut) and install an appropriate value between BLACK/ orange and yellow motorside ???
if u really care about the passloc system interface with relay using key sense and out when running from remote starter, diode isolate
if you dont give a ... dont reconnect yellow from key side
start and forget about it.
if u mess up reconnect both yellow the car will start
