I am about to install a Autopage RS855 in a 98 Ford Windstar as a Christmas gift for my dad. The ID tag says its a 98 but the wiring is like a 99 from what I've found so far. I was wondering from other experience if theres anything I should know before I start to help. I was also wondering about the factory disarm. If it even has it, how do I tell and how do I disarm it? Is it as easy as hooking up a wire? My dad can smell anything that is going on and asking to see the keys isn't an option. Thank you for any help you can give me.

To test if you have a OEM alarm roll down the driver side window and lock the doors via keyless entry remote , wait 30 seconds - 1 minute and then unlock the door by amnually unlocking the door from the inside through the window. Get ready to press the unlock button if you have a OEM security because the horn and lights will start blaring. If you get  nothing, then you have no OEM security system.

OEM DISARM wire is a LIGHT BLUE/BLACK wire at the 26 pin plug FEM modulelocated under the drivers side of the dash on the firewall for the 1999 Windstar's.

if you have a 1998 the wire is GREEN /VIOLET located at either kick panel

I don't have a remote, but the way I had to open it last night I know it doesn’t have the alarmposted_image. Thank you for your help!

Mark 98 Ford Windstar as one of the easiest to install a remote start/alarm in. For me I pulled the big panel off from the driver side and all the wires were there waiting for me. So much room to work. Finished in 3 hours, worked grate.
