Hello,

I've wanted a switch up near my front console, so i can turn my amp on and off, should i  need a switch for this? or a relay and a switch..Whats the purpose of having a relay and switch? To cutoff the current draw off the amp, while the car isnt running?

Thanks,Brett

well it all depends on what you want to switch? do you want to switch the trigger or the main current cable? if you just want to switch the trigger then a relay isn't all that neccessary, but if you are talking about switching the main current cable (are you for real?????) then a relay will definetly be required.

whn the car isn't running the current draw is very low....like .1 of an amp or something like that, this sorta current draw shouldn't pose a problem unless you only drive your car like once every two weeks. if it does then you have a crook battery.

When the amp is running you have a lot of current draw anywhere between 25 - about 80 amps unless you are a sick bugger and have massive amps and are a n ational competitor.
do you know what the purpose of a relay is? If not check in the forums about relays.
