When I was young, I took parts from my father's workshop and set up speakers and a car radio powered by a 110vAC/12vDC power supply.

I have parts from my own workshop now, but need to meet NEC codes. Power supplies come in different wattages, with large differences in sizes and cost. What is considered adequate wattage to power a typical simple car audio setup (single-unit AM/FM/CD/MP3)?

TIA.

150 watts should do the trick, but you can use a bigger inverter if you feel the need.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
