I'm rather new to installing car stereos, and i have a question. I am trying to hook up a small amplifer to the stock system in my 1990 mazda protege se. I have all the correct parts......proper wiring......line-out converters to rca connections... All i need is the location of a suitable remote wire splice, so that my amplifer knows to turn off when the car is not active. I have a very basic stock system, and no power anttena. I am willing to provide more information if you know the answer. please e-mail me with any responses at distrbed@hotmail.com

where might i find this "blue/white"?, there are two speaker plugs coming out of the factory unit with many sets of wires, one is front, one is rear, and i believe the rear is bigger than the other.......would it be in that collection? and how would i make the connection exactly?..........believe me, if i had a photo, i'd send it...

Not sure on which plug it is in, I think it is in the bigger one. Make sure to test this wire before connection. You should only have 12volts when the key is switched to ignition and 0 volts when the key is in the off position. Your best bet on connecting this is tapping into the wire. You don't have to cut the wire or anything. If you can solder the connection, that would be a solid connection. If not get one of those connectors where you can put two wires then crimp it down and lock it. That's it. Hope this helps.

thanks sound pressure, i didnt notice the handy little link that you had posted. i think i have the information that i need printed off now, its a shame that its the middle of the night, i've been rather frustrated with this, and i want to go hook it up now.
