Back again with more questions??? I have replaced my Factory head unit with a Clarion DXZ925 head unit. I have a 2000 Ford Excursion. I used an aftermarket harness and connected all wires properly then connected to trucks harness. Here's the problem, the sound output is absolutely horrible, cracking in speakers, no bass sounds worse than my transistor handheld radio. DId I miss something, does this truck have a factory amp that I need to bypass or buy an additonal adapter to get my aftermarket head unit to sound right. Please help, I spent a ton of money on this audio system and it sounds worse than when I started. I also replaced speakers with infinity kappas, and am putting the infinity basslink subwoofer in the back. Thanks

Do not use the OEM amplifier for the speakers + the Clarion deck power for the speakers. You are double amplifying the speakers. Either run just the OEM amplifier or the Clarion deck power for the speakers, but not both.

What you can do is run new wires from the back of the new HU and attach it to the output of the OEM amplifier. I', not sure if there is an adaptor that Metra has for this but you can check out their site ( https://www.metraonline.com ) or you can run new wires from the HU straight to the speakers.
