This has confused us to no end. Would like to see if anyone else has had this problem or heard of it ((or a similar one!)
Vauxhall Astra 2004 UK Spec.
We removed the Original Head-Unit, and Removed the Glove box to install a Genuine Nokia Phone Kit.
After installing the Mute/Phone Kit and putting the Vehicle back together..... the Interior Light came on and Stayed on.
We Tried Unplugging the Radio / Mute and Phone Kit from the System. The Interior Light remains On.
We even disconnected the Battery for 10mins, open Re-connecting the Battery the Interior Light came back on and Remained lit.
After the 20mins or so the Light will turn off with the Managment system, But we can not get it to turn off before this period of time.
Have resortted to removing the interior light bulb for the moment.
If anyone has any idea's or heard of a similar problem, all idea's/suggestions would be great, as this has confussed us totally. never had something like this before, the ready only has a constant and earth! cant understand how removing the glove box/radio caused this.
Regards
Neal.
it could possibly be a type of ani theft on the radio-- did you unplug the factory radio? it amy just need to be reset on the computer, the dealership can help with that.
woah.
sounds pretty serious
i know the vectra's have a very sensitive wiring system.. to the point that when you connect a phonekit the car wont start (well documented issue). but with the newer head units etc in the astra i would imagine a similar issue
what model astra? did it have the phone loom? did you use the mute wire or a relay? Did you probe the canbus wires with a t/l?
i guess you could try another H/U but you may run into security issues as it wont find its "brother" computer in the car.
