If there was one coarse or book I could read to learn automobile alarm installation, what you suggest? Is the MECP certification study guide a good choice?

The MECP Study Guide for basic installer is about as useful as well, it's ok if you plan on taking the MECP on your own and such, since wording is a big thing for certification stuff. If you want a REALLY good website to start:
www.bcae1.com

Will teach you plenty of the basic stuff. Now for exact installation practice and such, I don't know of anything better than a hands on experience. (I don't think there is an easy way to say, "Run that wire through there." unless it is one on one instruction.)

Fiberglassing, here is a site with a pretty good material list and decent explanation of how to start. See the Fiberglass section for more detail, there is even a topic right now with these tutorials. Not bad to start for that.

Everything else I haven't gotten to yet. Though my biggest concern is wiring/fiberglassing/paint/engine mods. I'll probably need to learn that security/remote start stuff, but I'll wait until I get to a training school for that. :)
