i have an 04 ford f150 heritage pickup with a 4.6 l v8 in it.  i am trying to install an aftermarket tach in it. there is NO tach from the factory.   i have purchased the ford racing distributor less ignition systems tach driver, which i was told will work.  it says to tap into the crankshaft position sensor wires, which ihave, and the box will give me the tach signal i need.

i have done this and it doesn't work.  i have tried tapping into a pin which i was told to on the pcm for tach signal, but that didn't work either.

anyone ever use one of these tach drivers before?  any suggestions?

I also know that you can tap into the fuel injection wires only if they are port style
