I have a 94 accord dx manual. On occasion when I go to start my car, it seems to hesitate before it catches. They key will be all the way forward and it hesitates, for maybe a second, no more. When it does catch it starts fine, its not slow to turn over. any ideas as to why this may be happening?

when yousay hesitate do you mean that it you turn the key all the way and nothing happens?

or you turn the key and it turns over for a few seconds before firing up?

when I turn the key all the way I get nothing for about a second then it catches fine, but nothing happens for that one second, it doesn't struggle it just doesn't turn over like it use to.

Could be a bad solonoid. Take it to autozone and have someone check it out. Never hurts for a free opinion.

Alright, if the solenoid checks out, what involves replacing the key switch?   Sounds pretty complicated.

To replace the key cylender you have to take you stering console apart. Not to terribly difficult. I replaced the cylender in my friend's truck in about 30 minutes.
