anyone know how long it takes before mdf stops gassing, as it stands my car smells like a morgue from a box and two mdf speaker rings I made. Any way to defeat this odor?

the odor seems more potent when the weather warms up.

A couple weeks, and you shouldn't really smell it anymore, it gets less and less distinctive.

I've never really noticed any bad smell from MDF. But yeah, if it is moist at all it will dry out and stop smelling shortly.

MDF has never bothered me. The smell of a fresh fiberglass box riding in back is another story.

well that odor of FB is quite potent I will agree. but that formaldehyde odor seems to alter my concious...

I had to grind the rings down in the door panels and most of the dust entered my car, so now when the windows are down its like i am sanding all over again, I am a dirty installer I guess.

as far as the temp changing; when my subs warm up that damn box really starts to emit a even more potent odor...but oh well
