Hey guys, I found a way to make my power outlets in my 4runner hot all the time, so I can charge my cell phone when im at school or overnight. Just wondering if this would create too much battery drain charging a cell phone overnight. Also, would just the circuit being live create a drain? My cell phone charger has a indicator light on it, that would not create too much drain right? I just want to charge my phone when the cars off, and still be safe from a dead battery.

a lot of car companys have outlets on at all times, some cars have it hook up the key, some have even both. i hate cars that have only one and it not hot all times.

Yea, the light on the charger draws maybe 1mA/hour. So little you could leave it on a fully charged battery and have it stay on for >10 years.

ok, thanks, just wanted to make sure. How about leaving a cell phone charging overnight? How much of a drain is that, could it kill the battery?

With a cell phone on it you would loose a total of about 1 amp. The battery's on your phone don't store to much juice.
