OK...I installed a JVC KD-AR7000 in my 03 Envoy awhile back with your help...

My problem is that here lately I noticed that when I dim the lights on the interior my CD player did not dim.....With the factory radio in when I dimmed the lights the radio dimmed as well....

I remember specifically when I wired the harness that clipped into the factory harness that there was a dimmer wire and that the cd player had a dimmer wire and they are connected I have checked to make sure of this...

So why isnt the dimmer working what do I have to do for this to work???  Or am I asking too much and I should just be happy...

Some headunits don't actually dim the lights like your OEM unit does. They only decrease the illuminosity of the backlite display when the parklights are turned on so you don't burn your eyes out when driving at night. OTOH more light is needed on LCD displays during the daytime (contrast) when your parklights are usually off.
