I checked the diagrams section for a wiring diagram for my truck but there isn't anything there for the 2002.  I have the remote keyless entry and automatic climate control if it makes any difference.

Thanks.

Notes:
*1 Without keyless entry use pink / YELLOW for lock and pink/lt. green for unlock. They are 5 wire reverse polarity mastered from the driver switch and found in either kick panel. With keyless entry use WHITE/ red for lock and BLACK/ white for unlock. They are negative trigger and found at the VSM. On the vehicles with keyless entry the GEM shuts down after the doors have been locked for a certain time period, to "wake-up" the system  *2 The VSM (Vehicle Security Module) is to the right of the accelerator pedal above the transmission hump below the radio. Not accessible from radio opening.  *3 For tach go to any one of the ignition coils and use the wire that is NOT RED / lt. green. On diesel vehicles the tach wire is green or white, in a 42 pin plug under the clamp on the engine side of the air intake duct. On diesel vehicles the wait to start light is activated by a databus wire from the ECM. To do wait to start use a pulse timer relay *4 Also found at the radio on vehicles that have the in-dash CD changer.

Thanks!  Is there any way to arm/disarm the factory alarm?

Disarm is Dk GREEN/ purple in drivers kick.  - pulse.  It will arm with the door locks.

This only applies if the truck has factory keyless entry.  If not, locks will be reversing polarity (5 wire) and there will be no disarm.

I think you can also get the disarm wire at the keyless module mounted on the firewall.

So what you're saying is that I don't have to worry about the factory disarm if I unlock the doors because the alarm will disarm when I unlock the truck?  Do I have that right?

nope that is not what I am saying at all.  You will need to disarm the alarm by sending a - pulse to the GREEN/ purple wire UNLESS the truck DOES NOT have FACTORY keyless entry.

I understand now.  Thanks.  Is there a wire for the arm function as well?

It arms when you lock the doors.  The wire you are tapping in to comes from the outside lock cylinder so that when you unlock the door with the key it disarms the alarm.  It simply arms every time you push lock or lock with the factory keyless entry.
