i am installing running board lights on my truck

i found the proper wire(thanks to you guys on this site) and ran it to a relay. The wire is black w/ light blue tracer and goes to the interior light. the relay only pulls in when i put one side to ground fine. where does the other side of the BLACK/ light blue wire go?

Am i supposed to only tap off this wire instead of cutting it?

please help!

Put the BLACK/ blue back together so your domelight functions normally. Tap pin 85 of the relay to the BLACK/ blue wire. Run pin 86 to ground. Run pin 30 to 12volts constant fused. Run pin 87 to your running board lights. Pin 87a is not used. When your domelights come on, your running board lights will come on. Is that how your trying to wire it?

even after i cut the BLACK/ light blue wire the dome light worked

am i to assume that this is a spare that is not grounded on the other side or does it run somewhere that i don't know about?
