I've installed a commando EZ-2200 in a '96 Buick Skylark. The module starts the car fine, but after it starts, it shuts off the engine. It will start the engine, and then shut it off again. It does this 3 times and then quits. I haven't installed the Passlock bypass kit yet, but I leave the key in the ignition. I don't think this is the problem, but I can't find anything else wrong. Anyone have an answer?
Also, this is supposed to be a "tachless" system, but there is a dip switch to turn on the tach sense. Can anyone tell me where to find the tach wire?
I'm new to this forum, and any help would be appreciated.
check your tach wire , make sure it is connected and you get a reading out of it,. one or set your time rate ont the remote start for the .06 first than if you need more increse it by one each time as according to the book . and it should have a tach but if the dip is set to tach sence than shut it off and try that cause this happens when the tach is not learned or is bad. the wires are in a v6 is purple white at coil pack and in a 4 cylinder. it is white in a 16 pin connector located at top right side of motor.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
You can check your tach wire if you want but the problem is definately the passlock. Putting the key in ignition will not work for passlock. If you were to turn the key on, thats a different story ;)
Thanks for the info. I didn't think the car would even start if it were the Passlock?
It will start and shut off right away. Some will crank and not start.
I think I found the tach wire. What should I see on the DMM? Is this an analog signal? ie: volts proportional to RPM?
Hook - lead to ground and set DMM to AC you should see between 1 and 6 volts and yes it will be somewhat proportional to RPM.
Man the problem is without a doubt the passlock system, why not listen when some one advises you of this
I wasn't doubting that the Passlock was the problem. I am taking his earlier advice and hooking up the tach wire.
