I drive a 2001 honda civic. I just got a stereo installed. When I left the store, I noticed the DRL (daytime runnin lights) indicator was one. Then I noticed the DRL are not working. Living in Canada we are required to have them. The store is saying its not related to the stereo installation. Also the DRL fuses were both burnt out. I replaced them but still wont work. The audio store is not helping me. What is wrong with the car? They say the stereo wires have nothing to do with the lights.
You can rest asure that installing a stereo into your car will not cause any problem to the DRL. The only way it will be related to the stereo is the guys who install your stereo was tampering with wire that they should not have. If they have use a stereo wiring harness to install a stereo, you can be 100% sure that the stereo install has nothing to do with the DRL problem. DRL wiring is not the same as the stereo wiring. As auex indicated go get it check out at the dealership. But don't tell them that you install a stereo and this is what happen. Just tell them the DRL is not working and you want to have them working again. They will have the answer for you.
