has any one ever installed/hardwired any battery operated devices into a car, ie, 2way radio, boombox, the device takes 3 AA batteries, what else special do i have to do besides using a resistor, how can i calculate the needed resistor, ? any help would be great!

Use a 4.5 volt regulator..I use 12v batteries often to power less than 12v appliances...

where can i get a regulator, how much are they? i need many, for a show car i am doing, if they are expensive, is there a away for me to make something?
