mounting battery in trunk?

Hi all,
I just got my Summit battery trunk mount kit.
Is there any particular layout I should follow when I mount my battery in the trunk?
I'm thinking about adding 2 main fuses or curicut breakers. One in the trunk with the battery. And one under the hood where the positive wire connects to the car's harness.
Now should I wire my 2guage line up straight to the alternator? then branch off to connect to the car's 12v harness? or should I just cut the positive terminal under the hood and connect my 2guage line to it via a block?

What would be better to use fuses or breakers?
I think a breaker is more practical this way I'll never to keep exact amp fuses around for spares. But I don't see too many inline breakers on the market (is there a reason why?), just the plastic black ones, where you have to screw down the ring terminals. I don't like the fact that the terminals are exposed.

Any other helpful hints or suggestions?

High amp DC circuit breakers are $$$. One big ole fuse from a junker car/truck would be a good idea near the battery to protect everything downstream. Only need one.
