I'm trying to set up my '04 GTO to do window rollup and rolldown when the key is turned in the door. It's already got negative lock and unlock wires going to the key cylinder...my question is how to build in a delay so that I have to hold the key for, say 2 seconds before the windows start working. Any ideas?

one ? does lock wire read negative the whole time if you leave the key turned or does it just pulse it.

I haven't actually metered it, but every key cylinder lock or unlock wire I've ever seen will read ground as long as you hold it.

if you use the dei window mod I think it will work just as if you hooked it up an alarm turn key to unlock once it should vent window if you hold it longer it will roll window down all the way. same for lock

Ok, an update here. I located the lock and unlock wires from the key cylinder, and hooked them up as the up and down inputs, respectively, on my window control module. I wired diodes inline on each wire because there is some rest voltage on the wires which was confusing the window module. Now the windows roll up or down immediately when the key is turned, but they also roll down immediately when I push the unlock button on my factory RKE. Right now this would be almost perfect if I could just figure out how to delay the inputs for a few seconds. Any suggestions on this?

allright...I figured out why the remote was rolling the windows down too; the driver's lock actuator, when it's in the unlock position, will read ground on the same wire that runs to the key cylinder. Got that taken care of, so now the roll down only works with the key. I'd still like to build a delay into the circuit, if anyone's got ideas on that.
