The stereo shop in my town said that I cant just put in a new head unit, that the Infinty system amp is actually mounted on the speakers. I want to add XM to my system, so I bought a DEH-p77 Chrysler fit head unit which will take the Ip-Bus cable from the pioneer XM receiver. (I REALLY dont want FM modulated). Is there any way to use the factory speaker wiring so at least I dont have to tear out and re-run all the wiring to the doors and rear cab?

Power up the remote turn on lead of the OEM system with the remote turn on lead of the Pioneer deck. I have done this with numerous Dodge Ram trucks where the customer wanted to change the deck and front speakers, but kept the OEM wiring and OEM amp.

if you change the front speakers, I believe you will have to rewire the rear speaker.. if I'm not mistaken, the rear speakers go thru the front speakers.. for some weird reason, this rings a bell.. not sure, maybe a different truck, but I remember doing this before..
