Well it all started when my battery died, so I replaced the alternator. But now when I go to connect the battery leads to the battery it keeps on sparking. I put the negative one on and then tried to put the positive one but it continuiously keeps sparking - so i cant put it on. What do you think is wrong? I have no idea. Please help..

you are supposed to put the + on first.

The order you hook the terminals up is only recommended, so that’s shouldn’t be your problem. Sounds like you have something grounded out when you hooked up the alternator. Double check your connections and if you have a DMM use that to see if you have a problem.

when i started the other day it was frying some wires as well. It starts now but one of the wires that it was frying came out and now it works. But my dash lights dont work at night and my fuses are new - so i probably done something wrong.

yes I'd say you did. Take your ride to a shop. they know what's going on. I have seen people burn there cars to the ground. so don't mess around.

This happen to a friend of mine. Check your alternator make sure the cover (grill) is not touching the wires inside the alternator. If it is you need to remove the cover and straighten them out just enough so it doesn't touch any wires.
